Another Arnold in the books!
Arnold Weekend has come and gone once again in Columbus, Ohio. I always feel like it signifies the start of spring, but if the snow could talk... "I'll be back!"
The weekend started off on Friday with a group of 15 lifters at 5am. Groups from Illinois, North Carolina and Kentucky! With the large group, we focused teaching everyone how to bench through chains. After that we followed it up with an arm pump so good Arnold would be proud.
Jake, Noah and I all trained clients Friday while the convention went on. We recovered as best as we could because 1 rep max deadlifts were coming the next morning.
Saturday morning was a heavy leg day focus with 10 lifters who attended. We were able to have a few guys pull some personal records in the gym (Dalton and Mike!). I was able to hit a 600-pound deadlift with a hook grip for the first time since my bicep tear. After the workout Saturday, some of lunged 400 meters at the local track. The day has only just begun!
After the lunge session Jake, Noah and I got some breakfast and talked strategy for Matheny Muscle House and the plans for the rest of 2024. Breakfast fueled us up and we were finally on our way to the convention!
I've have been going to the Arnold Classic since 2010, and this was one of the busiest Arnold's I've seen! We didn't stay too long, but we were able to get some really great interviews (and responses) from the patrons and fitness personalities.
